Liverpool Royal Hospital Muslim Staff Volunteer Coordinators led a successful programme of fundraising in support of their Royal Iftar and Eid‑ul‑Fitr celebrations,IMG_2507.jpg bringing colleagues together to mark Ramadan and the end of the fasting period.

The volunteers approached UHL Charity for support with their fundraising efforts and invited the Charity team to attend the celebrations. The event was a strong example of staff‑led fundraising in action and highlighted the organisation, pride and community spirit behind the initiative. The celebrations provided an opportunity for staff from across the hospital to come together, with food and hospitality playing a central role. Leftover food from the event was thoughtfully shared with colleagues working shifts across the hospital, helping to extend the impact of the celebrations and ensuring staff were included wherever they were working.

The event also reflected the strength of collaboration across teams, with support from catering services and the Education team helping to make the celebrations possible. This is a lovely example of how ideas driven by colleagues can grow into meaningful events that celebrate diversity, strengthen connections and enhance the sense of community across Liverpool University Hospitals.
