shared image (36).jpgWe know asking for donations can be a bit daunting but one of the biggest strengths you have is that UHL Charity is in your area. Many of the people you reach out to will have been cared for at one of our hospitals, or know someone who has.

You can use that shared connection and these tips will help you make the most of your fundraising and inspire your community to get behind you.

Be open
  • Tell people why you are fundraising - be honest with your story
  • People will give because you are so passionate about the cause
Share updates
  • Ahead of the event, and on the day - if you are training for something, share it!
  • Utilise your social media and your message groups
Match funding
  • Could your employer match fund?
  • If you are holding a fundraising event, and you're being supported by friends and family, could others ask for match funding from their employers?
Fundraising ideas
  • Could you hold a cake sale? At work or at home?
  • Utilise your skills - do you play an instrument!? Are you crafty? Think about how you can put these skills to good use"
  • Sweepstakes - is there a sporting event coming up that you could jump on the back of?
  • Run a bottle tombola at work
  • Hold a fundraising party - at home or at a venue
Don't be afraid to contact your local media
  • We recognise that this is not for everyone! But it is a great way to gather momentum
  • You can then repost anything that local media may run with
Good luck!
