As the festive season unfolded, our Charity was proud to witness the incredible generosity of our supporters, proving that Liverpool really does embody the true spirit of Christmas. In December, our hospitals were filled with warmth and joy thanks to the kindness of local businesses, schools, and individuals who came together to make a difference.e41c31e1-a37b-4666-9e2e-f9b38755ef0f.JPG

Dunelm Aintree 'Delivering Joy' to Patients

One of the highlights of our festive campaign was partnering with Dunelm in Aintree, who's staff and customers went above and beyond to bring comfort and happiness to patients spending Christmas in hospital. Through their 'Delivering Joy' initiative, Dunelm customers chose a gift tags from their giving tree, and bought thoughtful gifts for staff who were working over the festive period, volunteers and patients that would be spending Christmas away from their homes and loved ones. This not only brightened wards but also lifted spirits for families and staff. It served as a reminder of how community partnerships can transform the hospital experience for those who need it most.

'Gifts of Joy' A Community Effort

Alongside Dunelm’s incredible support, our 'Gifts of Joy' initiative ensured that every single inpatient would receive a gift on Christmas Day. We received monetary donations from individuals, businesses and community groups, to enable us to pay for a gift for every patient. Thanks also must go to the Team at Home Instead who reached out to us after they'd collected donations from our incredibly generous local communities. They co-ordinated the collection of gifts and delivered them to our patients in partnership with Merseyside Police. Patients were thrilled to receive the gifts, and one nurse told us:

"Your support helps us not only for patient but for the people who love them. At the end of life, comfort matters. Your donations help us provide warmth, and a sense of home for patients and families when they need it most."

Our local schools and volunteers also joined forces to spread festive cheer. From heart warming carol performances across our hospitals, to delivering gifts for in-patients, these efforts created magical moments across Aintree, Broadgreen, and the Royal hospitals.

Every gift, every song, and every smile had an impact on the wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors during what can be a difficult time for many.
