Urology team first in NHS to use latest robot for prostate cancer surgery
Asset Lifecycle Solutions has donated 14 tablets to our Breast Unit, transforming the way our service operates.
The tablets enable radiographers to review mammogram images from anywhere and reduces the reliance on paper-based processes. This will streamline the screening pathway, improve efficiency, and help patients receive their results more quickly.
Aimee Sharma, Breast Screening Programme Manager said:
"This donation will make a huge difference for our patients and help reduce the anxious wait for results following a mammogram. Our current process relies heavily on paper forms, and these tablets will enable a more efficient system, helping us to see more patients and begin treatment sooner. We are incredibly grateful to the team at Asset for their generosity and support."

The new technology will support staff in delivering a more responsive service while improving the overall patient experience. By helping to speed up the screening process, the tablets will allow the team to focus more time on patient care and ensure women receive the support and treatment they need
as quickly as possible. Asset Lifecycle Solutions is based in Runcorn and specialises in the collection and secure, sustainable recycling of IT equipment. The company has generously donated 24 tablets in the past two years, which are used for the benefit of our patients across four different teams.
Kristie Griffin, Strategic Partnerships Director at Asset Lifecycle Solutions (ALS), said:
“This donation is another great example of what can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared purpose. It has been made possible thanks to Liverpool City Council's decision to partner with ALS for its IT disposal requirements, demonstrating how technology can deliver value long after its first use.
Partnerships like this show the difference that can be made when community benefit is considered from the outset. One of the most rewarding parts of our work is seeing technology continue its journey and create lasting impact. In this case, the tablets will support the Breast Unit's move towards a paper-free process, helping teams work more efficiently and focus on delivering the best possible care for patients.
It's incredibly rewarding to hear how this technology is making a difference and we look forward to continuing to work together to create opportunities that benefit our local communities."
